Rageshree Music Institute Proudly Presents An Evening Of Indian Classical Music
Featuring:
Pandit Kinnar Seen / Sitar
Parminder Payal Seen / Vocal
Naren Budhkar / Tabla
Kinaar Kumar Seen is the eldest son of the well-known musical authority Ustad Lachhman Singh Seen of the Punjab Gharana. He started learning music from his father at an early age in the traditional style of Punjab Gharana. Kinaar Seen gave his first solo performance at the age of fourteen. Since then he has been performing in major music festivals all over the world including the famous Harvallabh Sangeet Sammelan in India in 1979 and 1980. He has had numerous performances all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa and the West Indies.
Parminder Payal Seen's initial training began with the steerage from Srimati Harsh Anand. Later she began schooling under the austere guidance of Guruji Satish Chander of Sham Churasi Gharana in the aesthetic and traditional training of Indian classical music. Today Payalji resides in the United States where she perseveres in furthering her love and dedication to music. She continues to perform countless times both nationally and internationally.
Naren Budhakar was born in Pune, the cultural capital of western India to a musical family. His father, as a violinist, provided Naren his earliest exposure to Indian classical music. His cousin, Shashikant Purandare, was a lifelong student of the Delhi style of percussion. Naren took his initial lessons with him. Since coming to America Naren has pursued his musical career with unrelenting dedication. He further studied with Samir Chatterji , the renowned tabla maestro from Kolkata and Shabbir Nissar, the tabla wizard from Hyderabad and the son of legendary Ustad Shaikh Dawood.
