WKCR FM New York’s “Raag Aur Taal” program present ‘Ragas – Live’ Series with a performance featuring Indian Classical Maestros!
The performance and interviews with renowned Indian classical artists will be featured on “Raag Aur Taal”, a show that airs every Sunday from 7pm to 9pm on WKCR FM New York. The Series will inaugurate a new program “Raga-Live” under Raag Aur Taal that will feature a live performance every first Sunday of the month in order to tie our program more closely to the Indian classical music scene in NYC. The program will continue within the scope of Raag Aur Taal presenting classical, light classical, and regional folk music of India.
Its name “Raag Aur Taal” translates to “Melody and Rhythm” in a classical context. Thus, the program primarily presents the classical and light classical music of India. However, the show occasionally explores forms of Indian devotional and regional folk music, as well as dance and theater.
